{Andrea of Little Buckles} Carefree Days

Today we welcome Andrea for {The Story Behind The Photo}. Andrea lives in France and blogs about family life at Little Buckles. She has not one but two Etsy stores packed full of vintage French fabric & homewares and clothes & accessories – be tempted!

I hope when my kids looks back at these photos they will remember their carefree days at home together. They squabble and fight over sharing toys like most siblings do, but behave at their best together when I create situations like these. These photos were taken one Wednesday, which is the day Sam has free from school. I try to keep these days as slow going as possible as he is attending a French school and learning two languages can be tiring. So nice, easy play is always encouraged.

Watching their imagination spark is magical. Sam takes charge and Bella is happy to play along. Less is always more in play, I find. Give them four chairs, blankets and cushions and they’re amused for hours. I sit back and watch what happens. On this occasion they requested books, food and drinks. Sam packed his rucksack with goodies and after squeals of laughter and a snack they pretended to sleep, waking up in Africa!

I enjoy moments like these. Capturing these precious moments of childhood and their natural ways is essential because it all goes far too fast.

So true. I all goes fast. We are also doing more with less these days. When you have less you get creative and end up with more in the end. I hardly had baby picture to capture my moments as a child. It so important to click as much as possible. I want my kids to be able to look back at moments and want to replicate some of them with their kids too. We do lost of tents with blankets, pillows, books and tea sets too. What a sweet moment you have captured indeed.
