Our aim with Capturing Childhood courses is simple:
We want to inspire you to take another look at your children through the lens of your camera.
We want to share our passion for family, photography and film to help others capture the beauty and wonder around them. Staged photoshoots with professional photographers have their place, but it is the every day moments with children– the bed head, the clashing outfits, the laughter, the mess, the firsts — that are the things worth capturing.
Our courses are equal amount inspiration and instruction. You don’t need expensive equipment or fancy editing software to take part, we will help you use what you have to capture the best possible images of your family. In fact, sometimes a camera on a phone is the best tool, because it is often the only thing to hand.
Our courses will use a variety of communication tools to connect the learning community. Weeky blogs will form the backbone of the course with private Flickr and Facebook groups facilitating discussion. Assignments will be given to deepen your exploration of the topics. Our private Flickr pool will be a space for sharing assignments with other course participants and giving and receiving 360° feedback.
Our courses are written for people with busy lives. You will have the option of keeping pace with the weekly themes or working at your own speed, choosing when and how you complete each stage. At the end of the 6 weeks, there will be an eBook for you to take away with you.
We are both so excited to welcome you on this creative journey – we can’t wait to see where it takes us.
