Kat Goldin
If you ask Kat Goldin what she does, she never knows quite how to answer…some days she is a mother who blogs and on others she is a photographer who crochets…business woman, writer, workshop leader, designer…she is pretty sure that the last time she was bored was sometime in early 2007. She lives by the motto that life is too short to match socks and will often be stepping over piles of laundry or leaning over a tower of dirty dishes to get the perfect shot. Her children don’t recognise her without her Canon 7d DSLR in front of her face and balls of yarn in her pockets.
Her work has been featured by Ideal Homes, Etsy’s Spring 2012 Lookbook, Etsy’s Facebook page, Parenting Magazine (forthcoming), Inside Crochet (forthcoming). Kat won Best Blog Photography and Blog of the Year in the 2012 MAD Blog Awards for Slugs on the Refrigerator. She is currently writing and photographing her first book with Kyle Books.
Kat Molesworth is a simple-minded girl from England. She is a professional childcare provider who spends her days encouraging and recording the development of the children she cares for. Kat’s passions are great design, good food and family all of which she tries to convey with her photography and film.
If you asked Kat why she is taking so many pictures she would tell you they are her messages to the future.
Kat is a restless cool-hunter and former features editor at Bambino Goodies, the UK’s largest design-led blog for families. Her photography work has been featured in the product photography for Kitschy Coo, on Bambino Goodies and in Anorak Magazine (The Sport Issue 2012). She was a finalist in the 2011 MAD blog awards for Photography. She shoots with her Canon 500d, her vintage Canon film SLR and her phone.
Kat Goldin blogs at Slugs on the Refrigerator and Kat Molesworth blogs at Housewife Confidential. They have been reading each other’s blogs and talking for as long as they can remember (at least since last month). Both Kats are Mamas of three children aged 1 – 5. This kind of symmetry can’t be planned you know.
Despite living at opposite ends of the UK they meet up regularly to work, gossip and belly laugh. Sometimes they even take pictures.
Capturing Childhood was born of a mutual love of photography, film and family. Through our courses, we share our passion with our students. We look forward to welcoming you on to a course soon.
